Winter Jam 2025

We made our way out to the Valley Tavern in Maggie Valley for Winter Jam 2025, and it didn’t take long to realize this one was going to be busy in the best way. The place filled up fast, conversations were happening everywhere, and it felt like one of those events where you couldn’t take ten steps without running into someone you knew.
We spent most of the day bouncing between the front of the tavern and the packed interior, catching up with friends and meeting new faces along the way. The staff kept things moving smoothly, and made sure everyone was taken care of as the crowd continued to roll in.
Once inside, it was wall-to-wall in all the right ways. Music was rolling, drinks were flowing, and the room stayed full without feeling chaotic. It was easy to settle into conversations, snap a few photos, and take in the scene without feeling rushed.
A big part of what made the day memorable was how many familiar faces showed up. We ran into Moonshiner Jerry Benson, Red, Reddog, Panhead Cooter and Little Diddle, Donnie and Teresa from the Backwoods Moonshine Museum, Benny McClure, Kenny Taylor, Becky Ramey, Michael J. Bowen, and plenty of others as the afternoon went on.
Between conversations and photos, it was one of those days that reminded us why events like this matter. It’s not just about the music or the drinks — it’s about the people showing up, reconnecting, and keeping the community tight.
By the time things started winding down, it felt like we’d spent the entire day catching up without ever running out of something to talk about. Winter Jam has a way of bringing everyone together under one roof, and this year was no exception.
Also in attendance
Also in attendance were Crazy Chuck and John Boy, along with several others we crossed paths with throughout the day.
